We keep this short on purpose. Here's exactly what we collect, why we need it, and who we share it with.

Who we are

eMoval is a trading name of Safasites Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17203896, registered office: 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU). We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us about privacy at support@safasites.com.

What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and phone number. While you use the app we collect job details you submit (pickup and drop-off locations, vehicle or item information, photos), payment information through our payment processor, your device's location while a job is active, and basic device information for diagnostics. If you are a driver, we also collect the verification documents you upload, such as your driving licence, insurance, MOT, vehicle registration, DBS certificate and goods-in-transit cover.

Why we use it, and our lawful bases

We use your information to match you with drivers, process payments, deliver notifications about your jobs, verify drivers, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, meet our legal obligations, and improve the service. Under UK data protection law our lawful bases are: performing our contract with you (running your jobs and payments); our legitimate interests (keeping the platform safe, preventing fraud, and improving it); complying with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting); and your consent where we ask for it, such as sharing your live location. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Drivers see your name, pickup and drop-off addresses, and contact details once you accept their offer. We also use trusted service providers to run the app: Stripe processes card payments and stores card details securely on its own systems (we never store full card numbers); Supabase hosts our backend database; Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded photos and documents; Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications; Twilio powers masked calling and phone verification; and Google and getAddress.io provide maps and UK address lookup. We share information with these providers only to the extent needed to run the service, and we may share information where the law requires it.

Where your data is processed

Some of our service providers (such as Stripe, Supabase, Firebase, Google, Cloudflare and Twilio) may process your information on servers outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions) so your information stays protected.

Location data

Live location is shared with your matched driver only while a job is active, so they can find you and you can see their ETA. Location sharing stops as soon as the job ends or you cancel. You can turn off live location sharing in Settings, though doing so will limit some features.

Diagnostics and crash reporting

To keep the app reliable we use Sentry to collect crash and error reports, which may include basic device and diagnostic information. We use this only to find and fix problems, not to identify or track you for any other purpose.

How long we keep it

Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. After deletion, identifiable data on customer accounts is removed within 30 days. Driver verification documents (driving licence, DBS certificate, insurance, vehicle registration, MOT, goods-in-transit) are retained for 90 days after account deletion so we can evidence compliance to insurers, regulators and courts for any job completed before deletion. After 90 days these documents are permanently deleted. Anonymised job records and payment receipts are kept for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting law.

Driver earnings and income reporting

If you drive on eMoval, we record each completed job and what you earned from it after our commission. We keep this earnings history as part of our financial records, and our operators can review a driver's jobs and income for a chosen period to keep an accurate tab on payments. As a UK digital platform we may also be required to report the income drivers earn through eMoval to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), and to give you a copy of that information. We use these figures only for record-keeping, tax reporting, payouts and resolving disputes, never for advertising.

Complimentary plans

If we give you a complimentary paid plan as a driver (a free PRO or ELITE tier for a limited period), we keep a record of the plan, the period it covers, which of our operators granted it and why. We keep this as part of our business and financial records and use it only for account administration, making sure your commission rate is correct, and resolving any questions about a granted plan, never for advertising. The terms that apply to a complimentary plan are set out in your driver Terms & Conditions.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can view and update your details from the Account tab, and permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete Account, which removes your profile, trusted contacts, and saved documents. Job history is anonymised but kept for the other party's records and to meet legal obligations. If you feel we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
