How to request deletion of your eMoval or eMoval Driver account

Deleting your eMoval account

This page covers the eMoval and eMoval Driver apps, both operated by Safasites Ltd. It explains how to ask for your account to be deleted, what is deleted, and what we have to keep.

How to delete your account in the app

  1. Open the app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Choose Delete Account, then confirm.

Your account will be closed straight away and hidden from the app, so no one can find or contact you. Any requests you've posted that no driver has accepted yet will be cancelled. Completed jobs stay visible to the other person. Sign back in within 30 days to restore your account. After that, it's deleted for good.

If you have already uninstalled the app

Email support@safasites.com from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm your identity before acting, and we respond within 30 days. You do not need to reinstall the app.

What is deleted, and when

Your account information is kept for as long as your account is active. Choosing Delete Account deactivates it straight away and starts a 30-day clock: sign back in within those 30 days and your account is restored, although any requests you posted that no driver had accepted stay cancelled; if you do not, your account, your profile and your driver record are permanently deleted at the end of it. Driver verification documents (driving licence, DBS certificate, insurance, vehicle registration, MOT, goods-in-transit, proof of address and any right-to-work document) are kept while the account exists, so we can evidence compliance to insurers, regulators and courts for any job completed before deletion. When the account is permanently deleted those files are queued for deletion and removed from our file storage within a few days. Records of the milestones you reached in the app are deleted after 90 days. Job records and payment receipts are kept for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting law (see Your rights below for what those records still contain about you).

Your rights, and what we keep

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can view and update your details from the Account tab, and delete your account from Settings, Delete Account (which deactivates it immediately and permanently deletes it after 30 days, as described above). Completed and cancelled jobs are not deleted with your account. We keep each job record, including the name given when it was booked, so that the other party keeps their own record of the work they did and so we can meet our tax, accounting and dispute obligations. If you feel we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

If an account has been permanently banned

If we permanently ban an account for a serious breach, we keep a separate record of the identifying details attached to it, so that the same person cannot simply sign up again. That record holds the email address and phone number, and for a driver the vehicle registration, driving licence number and National Insurance number, along with the name, date of birth and address as an audit trail of why the ban was made. It is deliberately kept even after the account itself has been deleted, and it has no fixed end date. Only our own operators can see it, and if we lift a ban we mark the record as lifted. This applies only to accounts we have permanently banned; closing your own account never creates one.

Your other rights

You can also ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it. The privacy policy sets out all of them, and how to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are not satisfied with our answer.
